Yes, human hair wigs can be dyed, just like natural hair. However, it’s important to note that not all wigs are created equal, and the quality of the hair will play a significant role in the outcome of the colour.
Human hair wigs and human hair toppers will be able to be coloured in many ways. However, if your wig or topper is made with low-quality human hair, it may not hold the dye as well, or the hair may be damaged by the chemicals in the dye.
Synthetic hair toppers cannot be dyed with traditional hair dye because the synthetic fibres are made from a plastic material and do not absorb colour like human hair. Attempting to dye a synthetic hair topper with traditional hair dye could damage the fibres and ruin the piece.
All GoldyLost wigs and toppers are made from high-quality human hair wig, which is 100% remy human hair, and can be coloured just as you would your own hair. All of our hair pieces have been coloured by a professional stylist in our Sydney salon, and we dont recommend re-colouring. To protect the integrity of the hair and the longevity of the piece we especially do not recommend bleaching/lightening our coloured pieces. Our dark virgin hair pieces have never been coloured and can be bleached/lightened.
If you would like to colour your human hair wig or topper it is always best to consult with a professional stylist who is experienced in working with wigs and toppers to ensure the best results. They will be able to assess the quality of your wig or topper and make recommendations on whether it can be coloured and what results to expect.
At GoldyLost Hair we can custom colour any of the pieces for you before shipping out. Some common customisations are adding a darker root or lowlights for more dimension.
